While the Redmi brand is best known for the affordable flagships, earlier this year in ventured into the laptop market with the RedmiBook 14. The laptop is currently available only in China, but it may soon spread to the West.
The Eurasian Economic Commision (EEC) issued a certification for the RedmiBook yesterday.
The RedmiBook 14 packs a 14” 1080p screen (an IPS panel with thin bezels) and is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors (8265U and 8565U, respectively). There’s also an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU with 2GB of dedicated memory.
The laptop can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB SATA SSD. The whole thing is pretty compact – the body, which is made out of anodized aluminum, weighs 1.5kg and is just 18mm thick.

In China, prices start at CNY 4,000 (€410) for the Core i5 model with a 256GB SSD. Upgrading to 512GB is just €40 more, though obviously those prices will be higher outside of China.
